See what our parents are saying about their time at TPA.

Day cares are just businesses, right? That’s what I thought prior to coming to The Preparatory Academy. In my 9 years of using the daycare atmosphere for child care, I am so pleased to say that I finally found a place that truly is a “home away from home” for my children. As a full-time working mother of 3, comuting to Manhattan everyday, it is important to me to know that more than just the children’s basic needs are being met. Aside from the delicious, nutritious meals that are prepared and cooked on-site, I have complete confidence each day that my children are safe, in good hands and are being taught the values that we share at home. My oldest daughters are transported to and from elementary school by TPA’s licensed and insured transportation vehicles which include both a driver and matradee. My son is a full-time student at TPA, and even within his first month attending, I saw a vast change in his learning. Miss Tammy has a heart of gold and really loves all “her children.” In fact, all teachers go out of their way to take the time to really get to know each child individually to give them the attention they need to flourish. Both Miss Ruth and Miss Suzanne run their center as a family. With all the hours our children are in child care, it is such a relief to know that they are happy and excited to go to everyday.

My daughter began attending The Preparatory Academy over nine years ago and it has become a second home and family for her. She started in the infant room with Mrs. Mo. As a new mother going back to work who was nervous, I couldn’t ask for a more nurturing and loving environment and caregiver and to this day, there is a special bond between the two of them.

As my daughter moved through each classroom of The Preparatory Academy and through every step, she received tremendous care, education and guidance from Ms. Wendy and the other teachers. She looked forward to going to daycare every day and often felt it was harder for me to leave her to go to work, as it was for her to leave me.

I was always kept up to date and received daily reports as to her achievements, advancements and her overall day to day activities. Her teachers always took time to talk to me at length about her progress. I felt secure knowing she was attending a daycare that really focused on “care”.

Now, my daughter attends the before/after school program. She takes the bus to and from school directly to The Preparatory Academy where she is assisted with her homework by the staff.

Ms. Ruth and her staff have been wonderful caregivers to my daughter for over nine years. My daughter has thrived under their guidance. All students are treated with respect, patience and kindness and these same values are learned through example by the children.

I have referred several people to The Preparatory Academy over the years and all have found an enriching program for their child. I will continue to give my most whole hearted recommendation to any interested in sending their child to TPA.

The Preparatory Academy continues to be a blessing to our granddaughter, Mikayla and our family in general!

Two years ago our granddaughter began her journey in what is currently known as The Preparatory Academy. This is the first daycare Mikayla attended and we feel we made the right choice.

Mikayla’s needs continue to be met and she looks forward to spending time with her classmates affectionately referred to as “her friends” and the teaching staff. The Preparatory Academy promotes the growth and development of the young minds entrusted to their care on a daily basis.

Mikayla is thriving at the Academy and our family is very grateful to the Teachers and Administrative Staff who are helping to mold Mikayla into the self confident, bright, loving and bubbly personality she continues to be today. Thank You to Ms. Maria, Ms. Tammy and presently Ms. Gina for continuing to be part of “The Village” for Mikayla. Thank You also Pastor Quinn Gross, Mrs. Suzanne Flavaney and a special Thank You to Mrs. Ruth Williams for taking the time to show me around the Academy when I stopped by unannounced almost two and a half years ago. I was so impressed with the Academy that I asked Mrs. Williams to add Mikayla’s name to the waiting list. We know it was God’s plan for Mikayla to attend the Academy as a slot opened for her to attend within a week of our family needing theis service! The curriculum is structured, engaging, positive and strength based. Mikayla is currently in the Brown University class and we look forward to her journey continuing.
